Departmental Firearms Training
The Calera Police Department has one of the most progressive firearms training programs in the state. On average, the department conducts mandatory firearms training every other month, with a minimum qualification of 75% or better. All officers are equipped and trained in both handgun and AR-15 rifles. Officers are subjected to a level of mental and physical stress during training. We train throughout the entire year, during all types of weather conditions: hot, cold, rain, or shine.
Calera Firing Range

The Police Department Firing Range will be open to the public three times a year for rifle zeroing and target practice. Dates will be announced when they become available and posted on the City's calendar of events and Calera Monthly.
