David Bradshaw & Family
David is a life-long resident of Calera and attended school in Calera when grades 1 through 12 were housed in the same building. Upon graduating from Calera, he received an academic scholarship to the University of Montevallo. While at Montevallo, he was asked to be their first co-operative education student. He agreed to that and started working for BellSouth in his junior year. He graduated with highest honors from the University of Montevallo with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration majoring in Accounting and a minor degree in Management Information Systems.

David is married to the former Donna Alverson (also from Calera). Donna is employed by the Shelby County Board of Education where she is the bookkeeper for Calera Intermediate School. David and Donna have 2 children, Dana and Drew. Dana is married to Bobby Janney and they have 3 children – Will, Emma and Wes. Dana is a kindergarten teacher at Calera Elementary School. Drew is married to Amber (Carter). Drew is employed as an account manager by Mspark (previously known as MailSouth).

Employment Background
Upon graduating from the University of Montevallo, David started working full-time for BellSouth. He worked for BellSouth until 1998 at which time he started working for Accenture (formerly known as Andersen Consulting). He still works for Accenture where he is the U.S. lead for desktop support for a major telecommunications engagement.

Commitment to Community
David is presently serving his third term on the council and is a Certified Municipal Official. He served as the Mayor Pro Tem during the last term and is currently serving in that capacity. David believes that the City Council should be the voice of their constituents.
